We can’t deny that the Adidas Samba has become a staple in any fashionista’s wardrobe. With their sleek silhouette, they effortlessly elevate any casual outfit. Although they’ve been around since 1972, they experienced a resurgence in 2020 when supermodels like Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner began wearing them. This trend appears to be here to stay. It’s now 2024, and Sambas continue gaining more and more fans, becoming a street style favorite.
Even though I love them and wanted to join the trend, my initial experience wearing these shoes was quite painful and upsetting. They destroyed my feet, and I struggled to understand why, especially since many reviews praised their comfort. Most people mentioned that they run true to size, so I assumed they would fit me just like the Gazelles, a similar shoe to the Sambas. I ordered my usual size, 37, but it turned out that these shoes run small. I advise you to go one size up to avoid the discomfort I experienced.
The Sambas are quite narrow, and the back structure is a bit long and subtly curved, which can be problematic. You need some extra space to avoid discomfort. Due to these issues, I refused to wear them for a while, maybe a year—I was really mad at them! However, I couldn’t resist their cuteness and style, so here I am, writing a “positive” review about them.
Even though I have two pairs that match almost all my outfits, I’d love to get my hands on the recent collaboration with Grace Wales Bonner. They are sold out, pricey, and hard to find brand new, but I’m determined. I especially love the animal print ones.
What about you? Do you have a favorite pair from this collection?
