Hello there,
Looking for some countryside chic inspiration with a preppy twist? You’re in the right place. If you’re aiming for that polished yet effortless outfit vibe that pairs perfectly with chilly days, then it all starts with the right staples—think a classic Barn jacket and a timeless pair of leather loafers. These pieces lay the foundation for a look that’s both refined and relaxed.
For this ensemble, I went with my 100% cotton camel Barn jacket from Mango, featuring a brown corduroy collar—a piece I snagged last year and haven’t stopped wearing since. It’s incredibly well-made, looks far more expensive than it is, and could easily be mistaken for designer. (And no worries—there are tons of similar styles on the market right now.)
Underneath, I layered a warm and ultra-soft brown wool sweater from Zara. It’s cozy without being bulky, making it ideal for layering—one of the keys to pulling off transitional outfits like this.
To keep things easy and balanced, I built the look around a neutral, earthy palette. I chose ivory cropped flared jeans from Zara to break up the darker tones and added contrast with my sleek black leather loafers—also from Zara. They add just the right amount of edge while staying true to that preppy vibe. And don’t forget the socks! For this kind of look, stick with a simple, solid color—avoid prints to maintain the clean aesthetic.
Finishing touches? A baseball cap. Trust me, it’s the ultimate lifesaver on messy hair or windy days—and it adds that unexpected sporty edge to complete the look. I also wrapped a burgundy scarf with white accents (Zara again!) around my neck—not just for warmth, but to bring a pop of color and add dimension to the outfit.
And last but definitely not least: my beloved vintage Louis Vuitton Speedy 25 in Damier Ebene. This bag has quickly become one of my most worn pieces. It’s timeless, chic, and surprisingly roomy. I’m even considering getting the monogram version next—funny enough, I wasn’t a fan of this bag style before, but ever since I picked it up last December, I’m hooked.
What do you think—would you try this look?
