Easiest Ways to Incorporate Red into Your Wardrobe

Hello there,

As red is the color of this season, I’d like to show you how you can create a chic look with a hint of red that will become a timeless element in your wardrobe. Incorporating red into my outfits hasn’t been easy for me—I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with this color. I used to wear red only on my lips because I love red lipstick. If you’re like me or just curious about how to do it, keep reading.

Red isn’t as easy to wear as black or white, so you need to be careful to avoid looking overdone—too much red can be overwhelming. So, how do you do it? The magic word is: accessories. This is the easiest way to add red to your look in a subtle but impactful way.

For example, this outfit is constructed with two central pieces: a denim button-down from Mango and camel wide-leg pants from Zara, creating a contemporary look. These two tones blend beautifully with each other and with red. Choosing basic colors like these gives you the freedom to add another color—red, in this case—to enhance the whole look.

For the shoes, I selected my red strappy kitten-heel sandals and my beloved vintage Chanel double flap in a small size. As a final touch, I layered on some gold jewelry for a more sophisticated look.

In my opinion, red is a challenging color, but that doesn’t mean we can’t pull off some clothing items and create a sophisticated look. It all depends on the type of fabric, the cut, and how you combine the rest of the accessories or pieces.

What do you think? Do you find red difficult to style?
