Beauty, fashion and the little things that made my summer effortless

Summer always has a way of simplifying things.
After spending more than two weeks in Cancún, I realised that the things I truly appreciate are the ones that make my everyday life easier: products I trust, accessories I constantly reach for and pieces that can adapt to different moments.
Over time, my approach to summer has changed. I no longer want a suitcase full of options; I want a curated selection of things that I know I will actually use and love.
These are the pieces, products and accessories that made this summer.
The skincare I trusted under the sun
Sun protection has become non-negotiable for me, especially now that I am a mother.
This summer, the SVR Sun Secure range became part of my daily routine, and I genuinely loved it.
My favourite was the Sun Secure Eau Solaire SPF50+. The texture is incredibly lightweight, it absorbs quickly and it feels almost invisible on the skin. I also loved the finish—it gave my skin a beautiful healthy glow, almost like a subtle touch of colour. Maybe it was the combination of the product and two weeks in the Cancún sun, but I really enjoyed the result.
The Sun Secure Lait Très Haute Protection SPF50+ and the Invisible Sun Stick SPF50+ were also fantastic. The stick especially became a holiday favourite because it is so practical for quick applications and can be used on the face and lips.
The best part? The whole family can use them. My five-year-old daughter tested them with me during our holiday, and we both approved.
One small tip: if you are choosing the SPF50+ milk, I would recommend the tube version rather than the spray. The formula is excellent, but I found the spray packaging less practical.
My summer shoe uniform
For me, summer is not summer without Birkenstocks and Havaianas.
I have been wearing both for years because they perfectly combine comfort and style.
Last year, I upgraded my Arizona sandals with the Big Buckle versions in Cognac oiled leather and shiny black. The oversized gold buckle adds a beautiful detail and makes them feel a little more elevated.
This year, I added the EVA versions in pink and light peach, and they have been perfect for beach days. Lightweight, comfortable and waterproof, they are exactly the kind of sandals you want when you are walking around all day.
And then there are Havaianas—a true summer classic. I never travel without them. They are effortless, practical and work with everything. I currently love the classic slim silhouette, but I have my eye on the square-toe version because I think they look incredibly sleek and elegant.
The summer pieces I always pack
The older I get, the more I appreciate simple pieces that give me endless possibilities.
A white linen blouse is one of my favourite summer staples. It takes almost no space in your luggage, but it can completely transform an outfit. I wear it over swimwear, with denim shorts, with a colourful pareo or dressed up for an evening by the sea.
A pareo is another summer favourite. It is one of those small things that can completely change an outfit—a beach cover-up during the day, a skirt in the evening or simply something to throw over your shoulders when the temperature drops.
And of course, a pair of light-wash 100% cotton denim Bermuda shorts. Comfortable, timeless and easy to style, they are exactly what I want during warm days.
The accessories that complete every look
A summer hat is always in my suitcase.
Not only because it protects my face from the sun, but because it instantly makes an outfit feel more polished. This year, I have been loving two natural fabric hats from Zara: one in a classic straw colour and another with a little more colour and personality.
They are also the perfect solution for those beach days when my hair needs a little help.
My Celine Medium Straw Bag has become one of my favourite summer companions. After two years of heavy use during holidays, I can honestly say it has been worth the investment. It is beautifully made, incredibly practical and holds so much while still feeling elegant.
No summer look feels complete without a great pair of sunglasses, and my Celine Triomphe Oval sunglasses in tortoiseshell have been my go-to pair this season. They have that rare ability to elevate even the simplest outfit, whether I’m wearing a linen shirt and denim Bermudas or a swimsuit with a pareo. I also love their oval shape because they sit perfectly under a hat or a cap without feeling bulky. Timeless, chic and incredibly versatile, they’ve become one of those accessories I simply don’t travel without.
Another bag I always come back to is my Longchamp Le Pliage. The large tote is perfect for beach days, travelling and family outings, while the smaller versions add an effortless pop of colour to simple summer outfits.
The beauty product I always bring
During summer, I prefer makeup that feels like skin.
The Chanel Les Beiges Eau de Teint is my trusted summer base. It gives the most beautiful natural finish, a touch of colour and that effortless healthy glow we all want during warmer months.
It is the perfect “your skin but better” product.
A true summer favourite.
Looking back at everything I reached for this season, I realise they all have something in common: they are beautiful, practical and they fit into my real life.
Maybe that is what summer style is really about—choosing fewer things, but choosing things you truly love.
